Piotr Tomicki was a Roman Catholic Bishop of Przemy?l and Pozna?, Archbishop of Kraków, Vice-Chancellor of the Crown, and Royal Secretary.[1] Celebrated as one of the most important representatives of the Polish Renaissance, he studied in Italy,[1] was part of the court of the nobleman and bishop Jan Lubra?ski, and had contacts with many of the enlightened minds of Europe, including Erasmus of Rotterdam.[2] <
